ABOUT ME

My name is Bri and I am a graduate of Aurora University with a Masters degree in Social Work. I like to be able to look at our environment and past experiences and see how it impacts our thoughts and behaviors. In my social work career I have worked with teen pregnancy, foster care and psychiatric hospital work in PHP/IOP programs.

I make it a priority to have a strong therapeutic relationship with the clients I work with. I aim to give them a safe space to express their feelings and learn different strategies to cope with difficult emotions. I believe that every person needs something different and therapy is not a one size fits all. I use a very transparent approach with my clients while also using empathy and compassion.

I specialize in working with clients struggling with eating disorders. I like to provide psychoeducation on eating disorders to my clients and their families. I aim to implement
change and feeling uncomfortable while searching for the motive of the eating disorder. It is important to identify the motive of the eating disorder while also improving body image, cognitive distortions, and self compassion.

Although I also work within many other areas in therapy. I work with depression, self harm, anxiety, stress, and life transitions. Some of the modalities I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered therapy. It is important for me to assist my clients in moving towards their goals and values throughout these difficult times.

I use a strength based approach to empower my clients and teach them different coping techniques and use a little bit of humor while navigating any challenges that life brings.
